M1898 Enlisted Khaki Field Blouse      The Regulation M-1898 Khaki Blouse (Infantry version shown at left) was worn by Army Enlisted Soldiers. Made from 6 ounce khaki cotton, this blouse is unlined and features a three piece body with the distinctive branch of service trim colors on the 1-3/4" high standing collar, pointed cuffs, upper pocket flaps and button down shoulder tabs.  The shoulder tabs are sewn into the shoulder seam.  Also, the unique 2" back pleat is faithfully reproduced in our version.  Upper pockets have a 3/4" pleat with button down pointed flap.     Two lower pockets have the button down flap also, but are without the pleat and the flap is without the trim color. Note that the lower pockets are located almost directly under the arm.  A 2" wide waist belt with double buttons and rear belt loops completes the uniform, but can be dispensed with at a cost savings.  For State Militia, the lower pocket flaps can be ordered with the trim color in place of the khaki (and will match the top flaps), at no extra charge.     The M-1883 US Eagle buttons are sewn on at no charge. The Tab and Shoulder clips are supplied loose ready for you to sew on and dome with instructions. If you would like us to hand sew these attaching clips on, please add $20.00, and click on the appropriate line below.     The M-1883 US Eagle buttons are sewn on. The chevron was a piece of branch and service colored wool facing cloth with black silk chain stitch outlining the pattern. The black area on our chevrons is dark blue wool.    The M1884 Gold Bouillon dress coat chevrons are the same pattern as the M1872 chevrons, except they are made with Gold Bouillon.     In 1898 the Army authorized cotton chevrons to be used on the khaki uniform. This was so that the coat and chevrons would shrink at the same rate. These cotton chevrons are ONLY for use on the khaki coats.     Custom made item, please allow 8 - 10 weeks for delivery.
