C.S. Enlisted and NCOs Shell Jacket - Atlanta Depot (Confederate)
(Early 1863 through 1864) Inspection reports indicate
that the Atlanta Depot was producing over 100,000 uniforms by the middle of 1863. A
basic "salt and pepper" gray colored jacket, without trim colors. Jacket
features include six piece body, one piece sleeves, six wood button front and cotton
lining. The collar has the rounded front and the back of the jacket angles down to
somewhat of a point, similar to the Columbus Type I jacket.
A peculiar feature of this jacket is that the front edge of the
jacket on the left side lines up at the collar, causing the front edge of the jacket
to fall on the center line of the body. Although somewhat odd to look at, this jacket
saw considerable service in Western theater operations.

Chevrons are not included with uniforms, whether pictured
or not, but can be added for an additional charge.
