C.S. Enlisted and NCOs Shell Jacket - Peter Tait (Confederate)
This jacket was used from the Fall of 1864 through the End
of the War. Although similar to the Richmond Depot style, Tait jackets do have some special
features. Ours is made in dark gray wool as seen in ALL original jackets. It is lined with
linen, has an inside left vertical pocket, a 5 piece body, 2 piece sleeves and the 8 button
(Block "I") front. Collar has the square cut front and distinctive double right
side stitching and white buttonhole thread.
This jacket can be ordered either With or Without Shoulder Straps,
with French Blue Collar or with French Blue Collar and Shoulder Straps.
Another variation of this jacket comes with a round front collar.
The top of the collar is piped in French Blue. The Shoulder Straps are made from the same
material as the jacket, but also piped in French Blue.
Chevrons are not included with uniforms, whether pictured
or not, but can be added for an additional charge.
Custom made item, please allow 8 - 10 weeks for
delivery. Custom Clothing and Uniforms are not returnable. Rush orders are available for an
additional price. A rush order reduces the manufacturing time from 8 - 10 weeks to 4 - 5 weeks. The price

Most other clothing (WHITE Cotton Shirts, Cravats, Suspenders, Felt Hats, etc.) take 2 - 4 weeks for delivery.
