C.S. Enlisted Uniform Greatcoat  Mounted, Brown-Grey     Over their uniforms during the winter months, Union Soldiers were issued greatcoats. Johnny Reb usually captured his and so the majority of Civil War Confederates wore a Union greatcoat. The information below is for the actual Civil War Confederate greatcoat.      The Foot (Infantry) version is single breasted with a standing collar and has an elbow length cape.       The Mounted (Cavalry and Artillery) version (pictured at left) is double breasted with a standing collar and a cuff length cape.      Our standard quality coat is made of quality heavy weight wool with a heavy cotton drill body lining that extends below the waist. An optional wool body lining, for the ultimate in warmth, is available at extra cost. Confederate greatcoats have plain sleeves and a split back seam with two piece back belts. Back belts have two buttonholes and one button for waist adjustment. These coats have a raw bottom skirt, as per original uniforms.      Confederate greatcoats are available in Medium Grey, Brown Grey, Richmond Grey or Tan Butternut.     Chevrons are not included with uniforms, whether pictured or not, but can be added for an additional charge.     Material and Color Samples Page.     Measurement Chart: Click Here.     Custom made item, please allow 8 - 10 weeks for delivery.
