U.S. Enlisted and NCOs Sack Coat (Union)      For fatigue duty, Civil War Union soldiers were issued a fatigue blouse, referred to as a Sack Coat or Sackcoat. Most sack coats were unlined, however regulations do call for a "Recruit Coat" to be lined. Judging from available records, the lined sack coat appears to have been quite rare. The unlined Sack Coat has a roll type collar and a kidney shaped left inside breast pocket. The lined Sack Coat also has a roll collar and an inside horizontal inside left breast pocket. Standard length is about halfway between the hip and knee. It has four (4) medium sized Union Eagle buttons and split cuffs.     Government Issue Arsenal Blouse - Our Arsenal Blouse is made using a 12 oz dark blue wool flannel with a slight twill weave and comes standard with cotton lining.     US Fatigue Blouse (Sackcoat) - This is a quality commercial grade unlined blouse made from our 19 ounce dark blue field service wool or 14 oz wool flannel. The 19 oz blouse is quite substantial and should last several hard campaign seasons.     Choose either Lined or Unlined. The backing is of the same wool as our uniforms are made from, so there is no noticeable color difference. They are available in two price levels for Artillery, Cavalry, Engineers and Infantry branches: cotton twill tape and worsted wool braid.     Chevrons are also available for Sky Blue Greatcoats and Veterans Reserve Corps Jackets. Reverse colors are used on Infantry Greatcoats  and Veterans Reserve Coats - Dark Blue stripes are placed on a Sky Blue wool background. NOTE: COTTON TWILL Chevrons are no longer a stock item and can take up 8 weeks for delivery.
