Clothing of Confederate President Jefferson Davis  (reproductions) Cotton Frock Suit & Hat Wool Frock Suit & Hat     C.S. President Jefferson Davis Outfits: President Jefferson Davis was a wealthy planter from Mississippi. It gets quite hot in the deep South during the Summer. He would have had a cotton outfit in a light color to reflect the heat of the sun. We offer a nice three piece suit in a natural color (off white) cotton twill.     President Davis graduated from West Point and had built a reputation as an able soldier and statesman when the gathering storm in the late 1850s carried him back to Mississippi. In February 1861, a convention of States that had seceded from the Union named him provisional President of the Confederates States. He was inaugurated later that month. Mr. Brian Mitchell often portrays President Davis at Reenactments and is wearing a reproduction of Davis' coat now located at the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA.

Summer (Cotton Twill) Frock Suit of Confederate President Jefferson Davis     Frockcoat: is single breasted with peaked lapels, two button front with exterior waistline pockets. Natural cotton lining. Fabric covered or Wood buttons are offered. Skirt is hemmed to prevent raveling of the cotton. Buttons are sewn on for you. Made in USA!     Vest: is single breasted shawl style in matching fabric to above coat. Five button front with two waistline pockets. Natural cotton lining. Fabric covered or Wood buttons are offered. Made in USA!     Trousers: are foot style in matching fabric to above coat and vest. Side seam front pockets; no back pockets. Split waistband with belt and buckle back for adjustment. Raw inseam length of 35". Bone buttons for fly and suspenders in the double button front to accept our #1907 Suspenders (sold separately).
