Men's apron for storekeepers, bartenders, etc. 19th Century men's accessories

Sleeve Protectors: these are the sleeve covers used to keep one's shirt sleeves clean in the 1800s. They were used by store keepers, bartenders, gamblers, bank tellers, railway ticket agents, bookkeepers and many others. They were usually in black or other dark colors to hide the dirt or ink that would get on them. It was a lot less expensive to replace the sleeve protectors than the shirt.

    We make them three ways:

Ribbon Ties: This is the older style that were used before elastic was available. There is a ribbon at the top and the bottom that can be adjusted to fit the sleeve protectors to your arm. They are a pain to use without someone else around to help you tie them.

Ribbon Tie with Elastic: These look the same as the "Ribbon Tie Adjustment" sleeve protectors. They have elastic sewn into the middle of the ribbon. The elastic does not show, but makes the sleeve protector much easier to use.

Elastic Adjustment: These are the later version of the sleeve protectors. There are no ribbon ties and elastic is used at the top and bottom to adjust the sleeve protectors to your arms.
