 Ladies Corset Style A

Ladies Corset, 19th Century Ladies underpinnings

This goes from Civil War period to near turn of the century. It's our simply one, it goes over the chemise and before the camisole.

The front has two metal bones with what looks like hook and eyes.  The back laces from waist up, then waist down.  You should put a light tie around the waist, then a finish tie at the bottom. A proper fitting corset will not come together or meet in back, there will be space between the two bones. Good reason for the chemise and camisole.

The back is a straight cut on top and bottom. The front has a small curve up at the breast and the bottom is a rounded off point.

The corset was designed to take in the waist and only smooth out the rest that it came into contact with. It's believed that they took their waist in 4", although I don't recommend this for health reasons.

Right now, while it last we have a white on white cotton blend for the outer shell. And cotton inner lining. The white on white is of a leaf pattern. Then a small amount of white braid or lace is added.

NOTE:  We use Canadian steel instead of plastic boning, as they did. On this item, we do not put rush on.

Available in dress sizes 8 to 20, can possibly adjust for some other sizes, e-mail on this.

Madam Foy Skirt Supporting Corset (Style B)

Madam Foy Skirt Supporting Corset, 19th Century Ladies underpinnings

This use to be a "store bought"  corset with side-front lacing and was originally manufactured from 1862 through to the 1890's. The pattern for this corset was designed from an original manufactured corset, that was almost entirely machine sewn. This original corset is stamped "Madam Foy's Skirt Supporting Corset. Pat. July 22, 1862, Sept. 15, 1863, Mar. 22, & Nov. 29, 1864. Reissued June 18, 1867." The original as it appears today is made of a light weight glazed caramel colored cotton twill.

This is a great corset, since it has shoulder straps for better support, with also better back support.

NOTE: We use Canadian steel, like they did, instead of plastic boning.
