     Refined elegance best describes this remarkably sophisticated 1880s period reproduction. This beautifully made gown could be worn as wedding gown or a reception dress. The classic lines, rich Ecru and Ivory brocade and silk dupioni fabrics, and attention to details employed in its construction will surely set the season standard where ever it is worn.

     The 1885 Cuirass style bodice features an antique collar that has been refurbished and is supported on a silk backing. The leaves are studded with light-ecru colored faux pearls and the collar is brought together in front with an ivory colored silk knot. There are 16 hand made button holes and silk covered buttons. The bodice is self-piped, and padded for a smooth appearance. It is boned and lined in ivory colored polished cotton. The high-fashion three quarter length sleeve is finished off with a band of ecru and Ivory silk knotted to match the collar bow and train trimmings. The back of the bodice features a triple box pleated vent. The bust measures 36-37 inches and the bodice waist measures 32 inches..

     The right flank gore of the four gored skirt has a double row of pleats banded in hand stitched ecru colored silk.  The train is decorated with Ecru and Ivory silk wide band and light ecru Colored faux pearls. The skirt waistband is 32 inches and skirt length is 40 inches from waist to floor hem bottom in front.
