C.S. Enlisted and NCOs Shell Jacket - Columbus Depot (Confederate)
Although issued to many units in the Army of Tennessee,
the Columbus Depot jackets are often referred to as the "Orphan Brigade Jacket".
Three different versions are available. From research to date, all jackets
issued had either the Medium Blue collar and cuffs or were without any trim
color. So, if you portray Cavalry or Artillery and wish to use this
jacket, the medium Blue trim color or no trim colors is the correct pattern. All versions are made from the wooljean material,
are cotton lined and have and straight cuffs. Either Block "I" or
concave dished wood buttons are available. (1862 through 1865)
Type I has two interior pockets and comes with a rounded
front and small point in the back if the jacket. Six button front is standard. Five
button front is available on custom order.
Type II is a variation of the Type I. The Type II has one
exterior breast pocket on the right side and the interior pockets have been dropped.
Type III features a squared front design with seven buttons
and includes the exterior breast pocket, similar to the Type II. The body length of the
Type II jacket is 1" shorter than the Type I and the back is cut straight across,
rather than to a point. This style of jacket was worn by William Randolf of the 6th
Kentucky. The type 3 comes with a square cut front design and 7-button
front. This jacket is slightly shorter and the back is cut straight across
rather than to a point.

delivery. Custom Clothing and Uniforms are not returnable. Rush orders are available for an
additional price. A rush order reduces the manufacturing time from 8 - 10 weeks to 4 - 5 weeks. The price
