Enlisted Spurs

    U.S. Regulation Civil War Spurs These were the standard spurs issued to enlisted cavalry and horse artillery during the Civil Ear and Early Indian Wars. They were also used extensively by Confederate mounted troops.

 Enlisted Spur Straps

    U.S. Regulation Civil War Spurs, Type 1: These have the FLAT heel strap and the shank coming off the top of the strap then curving to go almost straight back to the rowels. The shank is rounded.
 

    U.S. Regulation Civil War Spurs, Type 2: These have the ROUNDED heel strap and the curved shank coming off the top of the strap and angling up to the rowels. The shank is rounded and somewhat tear shaped.
 

    U.S. Regulation M1885 Spurs: The standard spurs issued to enlisted cavalry and horse artillery during the Late Indian Wars. These have the HALF ROUND strap and the shank comes off the back of the strap, then curves upward and then back down to the rowels.
 

    C.S. (Confederate) Spurs: These are similar to the Richmond pattern spurs. Original was found SW of Columbia, TN. These have the FLAT strap and the FLAT shank goes almost straight back from the strap to the rowels.
