U.S. M1841 Frockcoat for Officers except Generals

    US Army Officer's Frockcoat. The 1841 Uniform Regulations specify all other Officers from Second Lieutenant thru Colonel to wear a dark blue Single Breasted Frockcoat, stand up collar, single breasted with not less than 8, nor more than 10 (depending on the size of the officer) large buttons on the breast, with 2 buttons on the back at the waist and 2 at the ends of the pocket flaps. Made in 19 ounce dark blue field service wool or 16 ounce deluxe wool.

    The 2-1/2" functional cuffs close with two small buttons. Collar height is about 2-1/4” without stiffening. With black cotton body lining and natural cotton sleeve lining. Standard with Branch of Service letter buttons loose for you to sew on. Specify Artillery, Infantry, Dragoon or Staff Officer.

    Made in USA. Shoulder Boards, Epaulets and/or Sash (if pictured or not) are NOT included in the base price.

NOTE: The M1839 Dragoon "Shoulder Boards" are not like the shoulder boards of the other branches. They are similar to the enlisted shoulder scales, except with black wool on the body with the brass crescent and gold bullion edge. They were used until 1851.
