Ladies Vests

    Women's vests go from pre Civil War, up into the turn of the century. This vest can be made for pre Civil War or on into 1890's with only slight change in the curve of the shoulder seam. Civil War period vests were more over the shoulder and had narrower shoulder section than the later years; yet not as far as the bodice / blouse goes off the shoulder.

     We offer this in satin brocade and velvet or in matching or contrast material, if ordering a skirt, & bodice, &/or jacket . The time of year will affect what materials are available on the market. For best result a sample of your outfit and the time period you wish would be best.

     The back and lining are made of cotton or cotton blend, either matching or contrasting the color of the front of the vest. Depending on shape and size of the vest, one of 2 belt designs will be used.

     There is a rounded lapel with matching or contrasting piping down the front. Depending on the shape and size, there are 5 to 7 covered buttons used on the front.

     Pockets are not shown, but for an additional price two front pockets can be added.

     Vest colors range in; dark green, gold, black, & wine silk brocade. And if you wish sometimes we can pick up a two tone, such as green & gold strip brocade.
