    Branch of service colors are: Artillery - Red, Cavalry - Yellow, Berdan - Green, Chaplain - Black w/Cross, Engineer - Black w/Castle, Infantry - Medium Blue, Medical - Black w/MS, Paymaster - Black w/PD, Quartermaster - Black w/QM, Signal Corps - Black w/Crossed Flags, Topo Engineer - Black w/TE, Staff, including ALL Generals - Black.

    Chaplain, Engineer, Medical, Paymaster, Quartermaster, Signal Corps and Topo Engineer in ranks other than Captain and Major are a custom item and can take 4 to 12 weeks for delivery.

    Very Fancy Shoulder Boards: these included: Double Row Border, Triple Row Border, Four Row Border and Oak Leaf Border. These are wider than the standard shoulder boards, up to 2-1/4" wide. We only offer the triple row and oak leaf border ones. These are special order shoulder boards and can take 4 to 12 weeks for delivery.

    Junior Grade Officer epaulettes have 1/8" diameter fringe. The rank insignia on each epaulette is: 2nd Lieutenant - no rank insignia and 1st Lieutenant - 1 bar.

    Company Grade Officer epaulettes have 1/4" diameter fringe. The rank insignia on each epaulette is: Captain - 2 bars.

    Senior and General Officer epaulettes have 1/2" diameter fringe. The rank insignia on each epaulette is: Major - no rank insignia, Lieutenant Colonel - 1 silver oak leaf, Colonel - 1 Silver Eagle, Brigadier General 1 star (1.5"), Major General - 2 stars (1 - 1.5" & 1 - 1.25"), Major General Commanding/Lieutenant General 3 stars (1 - 1.5", 1 - 1.25" & 1 - 1.125" Note: We do not have the smallest star available, so you would need to use 2 - 1.25" stars.).

    Medical Officer epaulettes are identical to the Line Officer Epaulettes except they have the gold Wreath and silver M.S. letters in Old English embroidered in the crescent. Different diameters of fringe (and rank insignia) designated the various ranks of surgeon. Epaulettes as worn by Assistant Surgeon (Captain Rank- 1/4" fringe diameter). Two silver bars (per strap) need to be ordered to compete the rank structure. Junior Asst Surgeon (First Lieutenant) with 1/8" fringe diameter is also available (one pair of silver bars should be ordered). Regimental Surgeon (rank of Major) has the 1/2" diameter fringe but is without other rank insignia. Brigade Surgeon uses the same Epaulettes but order with the Silver Oak Leaf insignia. Medical Officer Epaulettes are custom order and take 8 to 10 weeks to deliver. Please allow sufficient time when ordering.

    Epaulettes are NOT included with coats, but are available for an additional cost. You must add this item to the cart separately. We also have a very nicely made heavy duty (.085 thickness) paste board box to store your Epaulettes in, that can be purchase for an additional charge.

    Custom made item, please allow UP TO 10 - 14 weeks for delivery. Custom orders are not returnable.

    The collar is dark blue and has scarlet edge piping with two loops of 1/2" gold lace and features the open "V" at the throat. Sleeve "slash" is dark blue and piped in scarlet. Length of slash is sized according to the amount of gold lace squares used for the rank of the officer. Field Grade Officer's have four Squares, Captain's three, Lieutenant's two Squares. Back pockets are hidden in the folds of the skirt under pointed flaps with scarlet edge piping. A total of 6 large Marine buttons are on the back of the coat.

    The Marine Officer Full Dress Coat is to be worn with the Gold Epaulettes- same as the Army used, with the correct insignia for each rank. The Epaulettes may be ordered separately and either installed by yourself or us at extra charge. All Marine Officers except the Commandant wore the Crimson Sash. Our reproduction model 1854 US Marine buttons are supplied with this uniform. Either the sky blue wool trousers in winter, or the White Duck trousers in Summer would be worn with this coat.

    The Russian shoulder knot is worn with the undress frockcoat with the rank insignia attached to the knot. Price includes the Russian Knots and installation kit for you to install. Or we can affix the attaching hardware at extra cost. To see different Shoulder Knot styles available Click Here. The knots come without any rank insignia. However, you may purchase the silver metal rank insignia at most Police / Firefighter or Army PX stores.
